Expected changes to public transport services during the Toyota Riga Cycling Marathon on 31 May
On Sunday, 31 May, during the Toyota Riga Cycling Marathon, changes to several bus and trolleybus routes are expected from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The most significant changes will affect bus routes 10, 12, 23 and 26, as well as trolleybus routes 4, 19 and 27. Regular service on the usual routes will be restored in accordance with instructions from the State Police, therefore the indicated time frame is approximate.
During the cycling marathon, traffic restrictions will be in place in the areas around 11. novembra Krastmala, Akmens Bridge, Vanšu Bridge, Ķīpsala, Raņķa Dambis, Mūkusalas Street and the Mūkusalas roundabout. Public transport will operate on diversion routes in certain sections, will not serve some stops, and delays from the planned timetable are possible.
From approximately 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., buses and trolleybuses travelling towards Pārdaugava via Akmens Bridge will cross the bridge using the tram tracks. At the “Grēcinieku iela” stop, only those routes that normally stop there will serve the stop.
From approximately 11:00 a.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m., transport travelling from Pārdaugava towards the city centre via Vanšu Bridge will operate without entering Ķīpsala. Accordingly, for bus routes 13, 37, 41 and 53, as well as trolleybus routes 5 and 25, the “Ķīpsala” stop will be relocated to the main carriageway.
Passengers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and check the latest information on the “Rīgas satiksme” website or mobile app before travelling.

Restrictions are also expected in the operation of parking facilities — both at the event location on 11. novembra Krastmala and on other streets along the route. From 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, 30 May, until 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, 31 May, stopping and parking will be prohibited in these areas. If necessary, vehicles left in restricted zones will be relocated by tow truck to another permitted parking area.
Vehicle owners are advised to plan parking arrangements in advance and, if necessary, use nearby paid parking facilities. Residents of and visitors to Old Riga are also encouraged to plan entry to and exit from the area ahead of time, taking into account traffic and parking restrictions.
